Opening Ceremony

On Sunday, the first of August, The World Transplant Games 2027 will start with a festive Opening Ceremony at Sportoase Leuven. The perfect vibrant setting to welcome athletes, supporters and delegations from around the world.
A spectacular flag parade will proudly present all participating countries, each bringing their own colours and stories.

The ceremony will feature inspiring speeches, a shared moment of reflection, and a musical performance that adds depth and emotion to this special gathering.

It will be a memorable start to an extraordinary week in Leuven.

Gala Dinner

Saturday 7 August

On the final evening of the World Transplant Games 2027, our community comes together one last time for a special Gala Dinner: a moment to celebrate an unforgettable week in Leuven.

Enjoy the grande finale in the Brabanthallen in Leuven.

Worship service

The service of remembrance and thanksgiving honours those who donated their organs after death, as well as the family members who agreed to the donation.  It is a moment to reflect on the second chance at life. The ceremony is open to everyone who wants to participate.

Cultural Evening

The Cultural Evening is a highlight of the World Transplant Games, bringing together athletes, supporters and delegations from around the world to celebrate culture, diversity and connection. Through performances, music, food and storytelling, participating nations share a piece of their identity in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.

The goal of the Cultural Evening is to bring people together, fostering friendship, understanding and a sense of global community beyond sport.

Recognition Event

The Donor Recognition Event is a dedicated moment during the World Transplant Games to honour organ donors and their families.

Its goal is to express gratitude, raise awareness about organ donation, and celebrate the gift of life that makes the Games possible.

Closing Ceremony

The Closing Ceremony of the World Transplant Games 2027 brings everyone together to reflect on an unforgettable week in Leuven.
It is a moment to celebrate the highlights of the Games: the achievements on the field, the friendships formed, and the countless stories of strength, hope and gratitude that have filled the city.

A meaningful moment in the programme is the symbolic transfer of the federation flags, marking the transition to the next host city. This gesture not only closes the chapter of Leuven but also opens the door to the continued journey of the Games across the world.
